About Us

VISION
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

MISSION
The Cowboy Church of Young County seeks to warmly welcome everyone who enters our doors, fostering a loving environment in God’s house where worship and the recognition of God’s presence can flourish.

Our Story & Beliefs:

The Cowboy Church of Young County, also known as CCYC, was established in 2005 by the First Baptist Church of Graham, Texas. CCYC began as a mission church with the sole purpose of sharing God’s word with everyone, particularly focusing on those within the Western cowboy culture. From the outset, CCYC has upheld the belief that the Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God for His people.
In keeping with the teachings of the Bible, CCYC embraces the cowboy culture, traditions, values, and lifestyle associated with the heroic American cowboy and his persona. This persona embodies a way of life that emphasizes prayer, honesty, respect for others, hard work, independence, and a profound connection to the land and its Creator. We hold firm to the belief that a handshake is as binding as a signature and that a “yes” signifies commitment while a “no” means no.
CCYC is an interdenominational church with a biblical core rooted in Evangelical Christian beliefs, centered on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as the only “Messiah” or “Saviour” for humanity, coupled with a strong emphasis on conversion and evangelism. At the core of our beliefs is the conviction that the Holy Bible is the inerrant word of God and serves as the ultimate authority. We teach God’s word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which in return helps us interpret its true meaning without the influence of personal opinions.
Most importantly, CCYC believes that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross atoned for humanity’s sins, providing the only path to salvation through faith and repentance. Therefore, we hold true to the belief that there is only one way to receive eternal life, and that is through Jesus Christ the Saviour, as stated in John 3:16.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Cowboy Church of Young County based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ressurection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
