And she smiles at the future [knowing that she and her family are prepared].

OUTLINE

I. God has a plan for men and women, and we were not asked to add to it or take away from it – so God’s plan is the plan.

(Isaiah 14:24; Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 1:11; Psalm 139:16; Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 8:28; Philippians 2:13)

II. Biblically, an excellent wife is strong physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Because she is capable, intelligent, honorable, and loves God and His ways. (Proverbs 31:10; Philippians 4:8)

III. Whatever work the excellent wife is doing, she is enjoying it – not because it is fun but because she is doing it as a VALUABLE part of the family and helping the family become stronger. (Proverbs 31:13-15; Colossians 3:23)

IV. An excellent wife looks to the future with anticipation because she knows she has prepared her family for the storms of life. (Proverbs 31:25; Philippians 3:13-14)

A wife of excellence, of esheth Chayil, is a woman of strength. She is capable of handling what life gives her. She is sober-minded and vigilant in serving and strengthening her family. She has self-respect and honors her husband, her family, and God with her actions. An excellent wife builds her excellence through obeying the word of God and her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

To both husbands and wives, there is no such thing as a perfect husband or wife. Both husbands and wives have made mistakes in their marriages that they regret. Instead of dwelling on these mistakes, it’s more productive to focus on God’s grace and how to avoid repeating the past.
