KEY VERSE

Romans 10:9:

“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

OUTLINE

I. Religious zeal is not enough to replace the right understanding of God’s way of salvation. (ROMANS 10:1-4)

II. Salvation is not something we achieve; it is something we receive by believing in Christ. (ROMANS 10:5-13)

III. God uses the proclamation of the gospel to bring people to faith. (ROMANS 10:14–17)

IV. Israel's problem was not simply that they had never heard; much of Israel had heard but refused God's invitation. (ROMANS 10:18-21)

Exposure to God's truth is not the same thing as surrendering to His truth. God's righteousness is received through faith in Jesus Christ, and the gospel must be proclaimed so that people may hear, believe, call upon the Lord, and be saved.
