KEY VERSE
Ephesians 5:25
“Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her”
OUTLINE
I. Great leadership, Christlike leadership as a husband and a father, must include integrity, good communication, and the empowerment of others. (Ephesians 1:22; 5:23; Colossians 3:18–4:1, 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Peter 3:7 )
II. Husbands love your wives, seek the highest good for her, and surround her with caring and unselfish love, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:25,28,33; Colossians 3:19; )
III. A man is to make his wife holy in their marriage, set apart from all others, blameless and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:26-29)
IV. Men, it is your duty by design and the command of the word of God to hold that union for life and hold her above all other things of this world. (Ephesians 5:31; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5; Mark 10:7)
A man and a woman should be joined together as one, and that means they’re not to be divided by anyone or anything else, not by mothers and fathers, not by kids, not by grandkids, not by politics, religion, or anything else; nothing should separate what God has put together.
Gentlemen, old and young alike, we will be miles ahead if we put God first and our wives second and pay strict attention to what God has commanded men to do in Ephesians 5.
Love Ya’ll, Pastor Cary
