KEY VERSE

Romans 7:4

    Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. 

OUTLINE

I. Israel, Americans, and anyone else in the world failing to follow the law doesn’t result from the law’s inadequacy but, as Paul says, from how it aroused sinfulness and rendered people incapable of meeting God’s standard. (Romans 7:1-6)

II. The law meant to create harmony between humanity and God was corrupted, bringing disharmony. (Romans 7:7-20)

III. Our minds need to know the law and do what the law says, even though we are sinful by nature. (Romans 7:4,25)

Our faith in Jesus Christ has given us eternal life with the Father.
